AUDITING

A Compliance Audit is a comprehensive review of an organisation’s adherence to regulatory guidelines. The purpose of the audit is to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing Health and Safety practices and procedures so they can be addressed appropriately. At the minimum, the Compliance Audit should consider Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and General Application Regulations 2007 but it can take into account other relevant applicable legislation such as Construction Regulations 2013, Chemical Agents Regulations 2001, Machinery Regulations 2008, Confined Space Regulations 2001, Waste, Water and Air Pollution regulations and orders, etc.

In addition to audit that ensures that organisational Health and Safety policies and procedures are in compliance within the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and any applicable regulations that the organisation is subjected to; that audit can be performed to review voluntarily implemented management standards to help work more efficiently and reduce organisational failures. e.g. ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management, ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management Systems, Safe-T-Cert, etc.
